Siebel IP 2017

As of Siebel IP 2017 the architecture of Siebel Enterprise Server has changed significantly and, as a result, Siebel consultants need significant re-training. Below: I am sharing information about setting up a sandbox environment on Windows 10 Pro PC for running Siebel IP 2017.

Part 1: Actions to perform before installation. I am using MS SQL Server 2016 Developer edition for Siebel database.

Part 2: Setting up SADMIN local Windows account permissions in Windows 10. This is important - I had to re-do the whole installation because of a permissions related problem (Siebel error SBL-SSS-0004) that occurred in the Part 10, where Siebel Gateway process was supposed to be started...

Part 3: Creating certificates and a keystore file using keytool and openssl.

Part 4: Siebel Application Interface installation. I am showing the installation of Siebel IP 2017 and patch 18.8. I recommend skipping patch 18.8 (or later) for AI, Gateway and Siebel server installations (parts 4, 5 and 6) at this time - the patch can be deployed later (after setting up the Gateway and the Server) to get training on the upgrade process from IP 2017 to the latest version.

Part 5: Siebel Gateway installation.

Part 6: Siebel Server installation.

Part 7: Siebel Database configuration.

Part 8: Activating license keys.

Part 9: Configuring Siebel Gateway

Part 10: Set Up Gateway - Create Registry. This is where I had to start over because of Siebel error SBL-SSS-0004.

But, if you set SADMIN Windows local account permissions correctly (see Part 2), there should be no problems and you should see Siebel Gateway process started in Services.

Here you can see screenshots of Create Registry step followed by the resulting image of Siebel deployment.
